Can you say Brintey wannabe???

LYDIA and Nathan.

Lydia and I met in drug rehab in 2003. (he he) Then bonded over JT, and Starbucks. Its actually really exciting that she is here, and Lydia and her gang of friends have made us feel really at home here in Korea. Thats Nathan behind her....Lydias husband. Lydia just stole that green jacket from a woman who was selling flowers at the corner...still got those slippery fingers!!!

Its always a PARTY with Lydia. Everywhere we go in Korea, these guys trail behind. Its annoying at first, but they are actually pretty fun guys once they finally stop chanting and playing music.

Pete, James, Brian and Louis.

KOREA....having fun

Just a bunch of Bikes and a mechanic biker.

This is Ashley. She works at my at my school as a Counsellor for my class students. She is awesome! We spend alot of time chillin' with her!!!!

"Salsa Salsa Sal Salsa...." Eminem

Who doesn't love this 80's classic?? This weekend I think I experienced the closest I will ever come to "Fame the movie" in my life! Cherry and I went to Salsa dance lessons with one of our Korean friends, "Ashley". We went into this Salsa club, where there were a bunch of really really good dancers. And...then everyone noticed...white girl + Filipino=English. So, from there we wound up getting about 5 hours of Salsa lessons, (still kinda suck though) and every eye in the room constantly watching our every move......by the end of the night we had joined the Salsa club, met a tonne of Koreans, got a free dinner, and got to use the little Korean we know! Now..I know you're wondering "How is Salsa like the movie Fame...were they wearing leg warmers or something?" No, unfourtunatley there were no leg warmers...BUT in the middle of all the Salsa songs...these upbeat dance songs started..and everyone cheered, and ran to the middle of the floor. Then clapping with huge Dashboard Confessional worthy smiles, they began to "line dance" almost like a Britney Spears routine, or Nsync. And they give it 100% every time, it is so entertaining to watch. They tried to teach Cherry and I one line dance, but we weren't exactly the best at it...ok ok...we SUCKED. I was a little humiliated by how much I sucked, but it was really fun. We also had to introduce ourselves to the group, and Cherry won a free pass for next weekend. All in all it was a really fun/random night!

TOTALLY "roughing" it here.

OH MY WORD!! They have New York Fries. If only we could get into the rumoured Taco Bell on the American Army Base..we would totally be hooked up with all the basics of Candian fast food!!

This is offically, the fanciest toilet I have ever seen. The buttons on the side appeared to have music options...but I didn't want to press any out of fear. The hand dryer was just as impressive. Basically a wind tunnel for your fingers!

We just celebrated Teachers Day here. Teachers Day is great day where students bring the teachers presents. Its very funny actually. They buy these flowers..that are surrounded by frilly material (think magic wand) or a frilly basket. Watching the macho guys we teach with, carrying around wands...just brough slight joy to me. As you can see...my students LOVE me!

Well maybe not all the students. This is my claim to fame in the classroom, the month Youngdo Newsletter for the parents.

My favorite little people....

My Neighbourhood

This is my neighbourhood. You can see the blue and red sign that says "PC" in the rear entrance of that building we checked our email daily for the first three weeks.

This is again my street, right near the subway stop. There are about a zillion restaurants surrounding us.

Here is my house, to the left. The entrance is right beside that silver car, and the pole.

One block away from our house there is this litte supermarket we get a few of our Groceries at. The man is VERY excited to have forigners shopping in his store, and usually makes a big deal everytime we walk in. (kinda like wellington starbucks 04)

Who's down with OPP???

The Golden Helmets of Seoul.

Christine and Mike.....

Home away from home. The smell alone just makes me scan the room for Barista's I know who may give me a free Latte. So far, not one free Latte. (almost one at this other place that makes a Starbucks worthy Lotte "Paris Bagette" but...I was honest and reminded them I hadn't paid)
